Hello PCSC Members,
For the next Outing we will be meeting at the Taft lot in Benson Canyon, Friday January 24th, thru Sunday the 26th.
On would be a great time to renew your membership, to avoid lapse in your membership. And if you a have guest, early in a given year is the optimal time to renews lapsed membership or come in as a new member.
Your brothers from Taft Prospector have scheduled their outing the same weekend and will hold a General Membership Meeting on Saturday.
I am willing to do the cooking Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Please be prepared to share in the cost with donations. $7 Per meal. Plan on a potluck on Saturday by bring a side dish, The food donations will fund roasted chicken.
The club will sponsor a skill-based metal detector hunt with gold dust as prizes, Saturday after lunch.
There has been virtually no rain, affording a chance to break out the drywasher. Hopefully the recent detection of a 3.5-gram nugget on the Red Chispa will stimulate your hunting instincts
A 14-gram nugget was found on one of the Taft claims in December. I will be able to accept your application and provide your membership card at the claim. The $40 membership fee will secure your access to the claim for all of 2025. In addition your invitation to the epic Christmas party in December, to be held at the VFW Lodge in California City.
The road to the lot is negotiable for passenger cars and trailer towed with 4x4’s. For a map or a video of the road from the pavement to the lot.
OUTING MEALS
Potluck on Saturday
Breakfast of Eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, pancakes and coffee will be offered Saturday and Sunday 7:30 am to 8:30 am. Lunch of hotdogs, potato salad, sourcrout, peaches with cream, and coffee, are served Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 pm will be available Friday, Sunday, and Monday. Please be prepared to share in the cost with donations.
