Hi Desert Gold Diggers have invited PCSC members to a special Outing.
Well, it looks like it's going to be another hot one for our Saturday, July 20th outing!
It's an overnight outing, and the goal is to dig by moonlight. Sunset is at 802pm, and that's when it'll begin cooling off.
The "hot weather" plan is to have root beer floats at 8pm, followed by a detector hunt, then a free dig raffle and digging as you like.
If you're not much of a digger, come camp out with us – get to know other members and be amazed by the night sky. You can even look for scorpions with a black light flashlight.
We'll play the detector hunt by ear... literally and figuratively. With dusk being at 830pm, it'll be darker than you're used to for a hunt. You'll have to rely on your hearing as usual, but also bring a headlamp in case it's too dark for your liking. The type of hunt we have, free or paid, will depend upon interest and attendance. Guaranteed, we'll have a hunt with coins you can keep. I'll bring prizes (besides the buried coins) in case there's enough interest in a $10 paid hunt with prizes, otherwise the hunt will be free, and you'll get to keep what you find.
The only thing you need to participate in the free dig raffle are your muscles. Jim & I will bring everything else.
If you want to follow someone out to Red Dog, you can meet Jim & I in Barstow, at Starlight Donuts (on 1st & Main), at 5pm. On our way to the claim, we'll plant signs to guide members there. That way, if you can't meet us at the donut shop, you can still get there.
Email me if you'd like to volunteer for the above.
