WARNING: I was camped this week along the Lavic Siding south of the Cady Mts. I just wanted to warn any of you planning on rockhounding and camping in the area that I was fired upon at night. Someone drove to my camp unloading an entire clip just above the bed of my truck that I was sleeping in. According to the San Bernardino Sheriff's office who helped me go back and recover my gear, there is organized crime activity in the area stealing from the cargo trains and the entire siding from Newberry Springs on out is NOT a place to camp or be around at night. I was the third person this has happened to that the officer knew about!.
