|The Prospector's Club
of So. Calif. meets on the third Friday night of every month at the "Woman's Club
Meeting Hall" -at- 9813 Paramount Blvd. in the city of Downey, California.
The meeting hall is on the southwest corner of Paramount Blvd. and Lubec. (One long block north of Florence ave. on Paramount Blvd.) See maps above. Meetings start at 8:00 P.M. and all guests are always welcome!
Meetings begin with the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag and are followed with introductions of guests in attendance. Our guests are reminded to please go to the front of the line during the mid-meeting break for refreshments and donuts. We want them to be served first and ahead of the regular members.
After the regular Club business is attended to, a program of interest to all is presented by the Program Chairman. Following the program and during the break, members gather in random groups, with coffee and donuts in hand to exchange information and tips about their prospecting trips, metal detecting finds and treasure hunts. Also during the break is an opportunity to view and vote for the Find Of The Month entries placed up front on the stage. (see picture at the top of this page) Winners for the Find of The Month are announced after the break. Now is also a good time to get your share of tickets for the great drawing prizes given away at the end of the meeting.
After the Club intermission, committee chairmen give their reports about upcoming field trips, crime search results for the past month, and winners are announced and given prizes for their Find of The Month displays. (see Find Of The Month page below for more details)
Drawings are held at the end of the meeting for valuable prizes. A cash drawing is held for all members present, who have signed in at the front door. All of our members and guests leave with fond memories of their adventures in prospecting and metal detecting, and also leave with numerous prizes in hand!
